“I believe that when children are warm, they feel safe and when they feel safe, they are much more hopeful about their tomorrow. “

Who We Serve

Susie’s Coats for Kids provides warm apparel without documentation of financial need to children in grades K-8 in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.

The organization hosts one warm apparel distribution day every year and provides warm apparel to the community throughout the winter. With an emphasis on assisting children, Susie’s Coats for Kids visits local schools to provide students with new winter apparel.

To date, Susie's Coats for Kids has established 30 Coat Closets directly in schools providing each with new coats, hats, gloves and socks. Winter items are now readily available in the school office.

We are dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of children.

We provide free, warm apparel during the winter months for children in grades K-8 in need and 100% of all financial donations are used for the purchase of new coats, hats, and gloves.

When something as simple as a winter coat is out of their reach…

“Having experienced homelessness as a child gives me the unique perspective of knowing how an impoverished child lives; the results of which can be devastating. ”
